Anime Expo: Tips

I have been so busy these past few weeks that I haven't had the time to update my blog like how I wanted in the first place!
Anyways, better late than never, so I decided to do a quick recap & tips on what to do if it is your first time ever attending cons & what to expect. Personally, I've been going to Anime Expo for 3 years now, & I'm always just as excited as I was the first time I was going.
Here are a few quick tips from my experience

Tips

  •  Bring food/drinks!

-Anime Expo allows people to take their own food inside the establishment, so don't be shy to bring food. Think of it this way, you're planning to spend the whole day at this place, you will get the rumblies sooner or later. Plus this is a great way to save money since the food trucks & the food inside the place tends   to be a tad bit pricey. Or take a cooler/bentos & leave the food in the car, so when you & or your group get tired you guys can all go back to the car & rest.

  •  Bring extra money! (but try to budget)

-While you're at the convention, you're going to see so many things that you will want to buy & get your hands on. There are: wall scrolls, art, clothing, figures, manga, movies. Basically almost anything you want related to the anime/manga you can get it here. Just be careful not to blow it all the first day (which is hard) because remember! It's an event that goes on for four days!

  •  Be polite to others!

-Everyone is there to have a good time, so there is no need to be rude. Leave that at home!

  •  Cosplay doesn't mean consent!

-I repeat: "Cosplay doesn't mean consent". Just because a guy or girl is wearing a 'skimpy' outfit that doesn't allow you to make lewd comments or try to touch them because of it.

  • image Asking to take photos/ talking to people!

-Cosplayers worked very hard on their outfits & obviously want to show them off, so don't feel shy about asking for a photo or taking it to the next level & talking to them! If you do want to hug a person because you just love who they are cosplaying as, it's  simple! Just politely ask for a hug, because once you ask they are more willing to give you a hug!

  • image Badges!

-When you sign up regardless if it's day 0 you better expect to see a really long line from say 8am-1pm. Everyone wants to get their badges quickly & want the   whole thing to start, just realize that you will probably have to wait about 1.5-2+ hours in line!

  • image Cosplay Gathering!

-Gatherings tend to be posted on another site called 'cosplay.com'. Please note that the gatherings are not run BY Anime Expo, it is literally cosplayers taking the role of deciding when & where a certain group will take place, so just check up daily on it by seeing the threads.

So far those are all the tips I can think of as of right now, if I think of more or if anyone has any questions feel free to ask!
